**Job Title:** Director of Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced engineering leader to join our team as a Director of Engineering. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead multiple distributed teams of exceptional developers, building scalable and efficient software solutions for millions of users.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing and mentoring engineers, shaping roadmaps, and driving quality and security across dozens of interconnected services. They will also engage with other teams to ensure consistency across architectures, requirements, and priorities.

**Key Responsibilities:*

  • Provide senior engineering leadership to guide the design, development, and operational efficiency of a collection of interrelated services
  • Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development
  • Demonstrate sound engineering principles and directly contribute toward your team's goals
  • Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, management, and external stakeholders
  • Lead modern, agile software development practices
  • Ensure a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with company values

**Required Skills and Qualifications:*

  • Prior management roles leading globally distributed engineering teams
  • Experience with large-scale production web services development and operations
  • Mentorship and leadership skills
  • Agile development methodologies
  • Software development experience in Python or Golang
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
