Trade Compliance Expert

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled trade compliance professional to lead our import and export matters. As a global fashion and lifestyle retailer, we operate in a complex and ever-changing regulatory environment.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in import classification, customs compliance, and trade sanctions. He or she will be responsible for monitoring key industry developments, legislative, and regulatory changes affecting business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the compliance readiness of the business through the management of the courier import compliance self-assessment process and on-site compliance reviews.
  • Act as the in-house resource on import and export matters, identifying import and export risks and opportunities, and leading mitigation plans.
  • Maintain and drive periodic updates to Import Compliance policies and procedures.
  • Oversee import classification process and database management.
  • Develops the duty mitigation plan and ensures implementation.
  • Oversees Customs Broker selection, review, and performance management process.
  • Oversees and manages the outsourced trade compliance provider activities, performance process, and compliance adherence.
  • Investigate possible customs compliance, import control or trade sanctions violations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, International Commerce, Business Management, or International Relations.
  • Advanced English.
  • 5 years of Import Compliance experience.
  • Background in Bonded Warehouses.
  • Experience in implementing new policies and regulations.
  • Experience in OEA program implementation.
