The Sous Chef role is a critical position in any hospitality setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the overall kitchen operations, ensuring seamless execution of daily tasks and effective management of food provisions.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef to maintain high standards of quality, presentation, and flavor.
  • Assist guests promptly and efficiently, addressing their queries and concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Contribute to menu creation by incorporating guest feedback and suggestions.
  • Ensure consistent production of high-quality food across all hotel outlets.
  • Represent the hotel in a professional manner, handling customer relations when necessary.
  • Effectively manage resources, prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities to team members.
  • Sustain brand standards through staff training and assessment.
  • Optimize costs without compromising quality, enhancing profit margins and meeting departmental targets.
  • Cultivate positive working relationships with colleagues from other departments.
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations, and all relevant legislation.
Requirements
  • Possess relevant qualifications and certifications for this role.
  • Demonstrate excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Showcase ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Exhibit strong supervisory and leadership qualities.
  • Hold a current, valid trade qualification (proof may be required).
  • Evidence a creative approach to food preparation and presentation.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Display good communication skills and ability to work effectively in teams.
Preferred Capabilities
  • Prior experience as a Sous Chef or similar role.
  • A passion for producing high-quality food and exceptional dining experiences.
  • Familiarity with current culinary trends and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using computers and software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
