IMS Database Specialist

As a key member of our technology team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance and security of our IMS databases.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure database availability, manage and maintain IMS databases.
- Perform regular backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Monitor database performance and implement optimization measures.
- Collaborate with IT and customer service departments to support digital transformation initiatives.
- Implement and manage database changes, upgrades, and patches.
- Develop and maintain database documentation, including data models and procedures.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations.
- Participate in on-call rotation for database support.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
- Proven experience as an IMS DBA System Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of IMS database management, hierarchical structures, and OLTP.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
