Event Services Manager

Accomplish your career goals by joining our team as an Event Services Manager at Fairmont Austin. As a key member of our Events Team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional event experiences for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide professional, friendly, and engaging service to our clients.
  2. Organize convention booking files and maintain accurate activities within files.
  3. Obtain and confirm all event-related information with clients and distribute group resumes, conference agendas, event orders, floorplans, etc. to all operating partners accurately and in a timely manner.
  4. Drive function space optimization and maximize space utilization for guest experience and financial performance of the department.
  5. Yield sleeping room block and function space to ensure optimization of financial return and performance.
  6. Forecast banquet food and beverage by group with a target of 3% accuracy.
  7. Initiate and follow up on billing procedures to ensure deposits and/or credit applications are received within acceptable timeframes.
  8. Conduct pre-conference/event meetings with clients and pertinent departments to confirm all relevant details are communicated.
  9. Ensure guest/group experience while onsite through personal interaction and attendance at functions throughout the stay.
  10. Be flexible to accommodate irregular and/or extended hours and work on weekends.
  11. Conduct site inspections as required and handle inquiries.
  12. Attend necessary meetings within the hotel that affect or are affected by the Catering, Conference Services &/or Events department.
  13. Establish and maintain rapport with clients, prior to, during, and post conference, exceeding their expectations and encouraging repeat business.
  14. Play an active role in the local community through associations, memberships, and involvement, serving as an ambassador of the hotel within the local community.
  15. Additional responsibilities as outlined by the Director or Assistant Director.
