The successful candidate will work with large-scale datasets, implement machine learning models in production environments, and leverage emerging AI technologies to solve complex business problems. By combining technical excellence with business acumen, you'll help create a robust data foundation that drives innovation and growth.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and analytics solutions
- Analyse new data sources and identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with development teams to implement features into production
- Translate complex technical concepts into actionable business insights
- Research, prototype, and implement emerging AI/ML technologies, particularly in generative AI and modern data science tools
- Contribute to the development of data science roadmaps and architectural decisions for scalable analytics solutions
Requirements
- University degree in physics, math, computer science, or a related field
- Professional experience in a related role and/or demonstrated competency (projects) utilizing relevant technologies
- Proficient in Python, Java, or similar programming languages with experience building production systems
- Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and software engineering best practices including version control, testing frameworks, and code documentation
- Experience in modelling and predictive analytics with experience working with unstructured data
- Experience with machine learning tools in big data environments
- Practical experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), prompt engineering, and response optimization
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mind, and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to a non-technical audience
- Prior experience in financial institutions (or other similar industries) is a plus
- Strong proficiency in both English and Portuguese is required; Spanish language skills are a plus
