Physical Security Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-obsessed individual to provide hands-on support to our Data Center Infrastructure Operations team in Brazil.

This role involves running day-to-day data center security operations, supporting and executing security projects and programs, as well as ensuring audit compliance with AWS policies and procedures.

  • Direct and manage a contract guard force at the cluster level, overseeing more than 200 people in daily data center operations.
  • Handle multiple sites operations including, security incidents, escalations, or any other security-related issues.
  • Provide after-hours on-call management support, and participate in emergent, large-scale event response when needed.
  • Participate in recurring data center security audits and reviews.
  • Execute established processes in compliance with AWS policies, standards, guidelines, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide input on, and develop security methodologies, policies, and procedures.
  • Write reports and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.
  • Oversee new security construction or retrofit projects.
  • Assist management with financial analysis, and contribute to financial decisions for security requirements.
  • Collaborate with other teams to protect AWS Data Center personnel, information, and assets.
Security Operations & Strategy
  • Own the security operation of multiple sites.
  • Implement overarching security strategy through daily tactics to reach management goals.
  • Ability to walk a facility, and observe security gaps in physical barriers, security officer procedure, policies, surveillance equipment, and alarm points.
  • Investigate accidents, thefts, disturbances, discrepancies.
  • Drive campaigns to enhance security awareness.
Vendor & Contract Management
  • Manage Contract Guard Force (CGF) contract.
  • Establish SMART goals for the CGF and drive their completion.
  • Oversee physical security sub-contractors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door repair, fencing, and access controls.
  • Oversee security construction projects.
Training & Performance Management
  • Enhance existing CGF physical security training program while identifying key metrics to measure success.
  • Teach others to execute proper security processes and methods.
  • Experience with workflow ticketing, and extraction of performance metrics.
