Job Title: Computer Science Lead Practitioner

We are seeking an exceptional Computer Science Lead Practitioner to join our team at Ada, the National College for Digital Skills. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for leading and developing our Computer Science department, ensuring that our students receive a world-class education in this critical field.

About the Role:

  • Lead the development and delivery of our Computer Science curriculum, ensuring that it is innovative, engaging, and aligned with industry needs.
  • Teach and mentor students on our BTEC Nationals (RQF) Level 3 Computing programme, helping them to achieve outstanding outcomes and progression.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement new curriculum initiatives, including the T-Level Digital Production, Design and Development course.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities for teachers and support staff, helping them to grow and succeed in their roles.
  • Contribute to the development of our college's educational vision, ensuring that it is aligned with the needs of our students and the wider community.

Requirements:

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) / PGCE / Lecturer qualification (QTLS).
  • Proven track record of delivering Computer Science/Computing at Level 3 with excellent results.
  • Pastoral experience with KS4 or post-16 students.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Knowledge of industry, ideally the tech sector.
  • Experience in leading aspects of BTEC provision.
  • Experience of leading teams within an educational context.
  • Experience of coaching and developing teachers and/or support staff.

  • Genuine passion and belief in the potential of every student.
  • An educational vision aligned with the college's high aspirations.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Resilience and motivation to stay positive during challenges.
