Maintenance Electrician II Job Description

Job Overview:

The Maintenance Electrician II will perform a variety of mechanical and electrical tasks to ensure safe operations while meeting production goals and quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot Equipment: Identify problems by reading schematics/prints and make necessary repairs to ensure safe operation of the machine or system.
  • Ancillary Equipment Maintenance: Troubleshoot and adjust or repair blow overs, bulb pullers, heaters, and other ancillary equipment.
  • Vision System Setup: Changeovers and setups on Vision Systems, making minor adjustments as required.
  • Ink Mixing and Disposal: Perform ink mixing and disposing of procedure according to set Safety/QA guidelines for printing machines.
  • Oil Changes: Perform necessary oil changes on machine gear boxes and dispose of used oil per established procedure.
  • Retrofitting and Rebuilding: Rebuild/retrofit machine or machine components as per specifications.
  • Equipment Installation and Decommissioning: Perform installation, replacement, or decommissioning of equipment.
  • Validations: Perform validations as necessary for equipment.
  • Training and Development: Work with training department to train new mechanics on machine repair, setup, and related plant procedures.
  • PM's and Reporting: Complete PM's on or before due date and communicate to proper authority of job completion.
  • Sourcing Obsolete Parts: SOURCE obsolete parts for equipment and make them stock item.
  • Inventory Management: Identify and locate parts in the stock room through MP2 or other such system.
  • Company Initiatives: Participate in company-run programs like CI, Safety initiatives, Audits, investigations, etc.
  • Project Support: Support projects and improvement initiatives from engineering, process, QA, Safety, and operations group.
  • Daily Log Keeping: Document performed tasks for the day into the maintenance log, before the end of the shift.
  • Confidentiality: Safeguard all corporate or plant confidential information.
  • Housekeeping: Use good housekeeping practices to maintain safe, clean, orderly work area.
  • Professional Development: Upgrade technical skills by various educational workshops, on-site or off-site trainings supported by WEST.
  • Engineering Department Guidelines: Follow engineering department guidelines and procedures.
  • Attendance: Exhibit regular, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in electrical technology or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance electrician role or similar position.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to work in fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
