Environmental, Health and Safety Manager

 

Job Description:

As an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, planning and implementation of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures within our organization. You will ensure compliance with local government regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety and handle contracts with appropriate agencies.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local government regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety.
  • Coach and advise the environmental, health and safety staff and management on ways to improve outcomes and programs in their areas.
  • Ensure appropriate corrective action is taken where environmental, health and safety hazards exist.
  • Oversee the development of company training programs for employees in areas such as hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, electrical safety, and machine safety.
  • Coordinate various councils and teams to reduce exposure to environmental, health and safety issues.

 

Requirements:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required.
  • Fluent English.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing metrics, trend analysis and reporting.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Demonstrated technical/working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Business & organizational skills with the ability to develop, maintain, generate project schedules, budgets and reports.
  • Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis tools.
  • Experience in identifying, evaluating (risk assessments), and controlling EHS risks in the workplace.
