This Role:

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Oversee accounting teams in Brazil and Panama, providing guidance, training, and support for high performance and professional growth, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with local and international accounting standards, coordinate and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and company policies, and liaise with external auditors and manage audit processes for all regions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations, leverage technology and automation to streamline accounting processes, and develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all accounting activities.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, and HR, to support business objectives, provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management, and ensure effective communication and coordination between accounting teams in different regions.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy, and monitor and manage currency exchange risks and other international financial exposures.
  • ERP Functional Support: Collaborate with IT and project management teams to ensure the successful rollout of NetSuite across regions, provide training and support to accounting teams on NetSuite functionalities and best practices, and continuously evaluate and enhance the use of NetSuite to improve financial processes and reporting.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and local accounting standards in Panama and Brazil.
  • Proven experience managing international accounting teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish or Portuguese is highly desirable.
Compensation Package

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience, plus benefits including company-funded Health and Dental Insurance for employees and immediate family members, Life insurance, Monthly meal vouchers and Home Office assistance, and Professional Development Perk of up to $2,000 USD annually.
