Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Operations Manager to join our team at 21c Museum Hotels. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the accounting operations in the hotel to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent reporting in accordance with policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cashier, and Night Audit functions
  • Interview, recommend hiring, train, develop, empower, schedule, coach, and counsel accounting staff
  • Recommend and conduct performance and salary reviews
  • Resolve problems and provide open communications
  • Supervise the daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with SOPs and applicable laws and regulations
  • Analyze and reconcile all general ledger accounts and bank statements
  • Prepare financial statements and reports
  • Assist in compiling and preparing the annual budget, forecasts, taxes, and other financial reports

Requirements

  • Experience/knowledge in Front Office operation and Night Audit; Accounts Payable and Receivable; Income Audit and Restaurant Control; Food and Beverage Control; Payroll and Personnel; General Cashier and Credit Management; Bank Reconciliations
  • Capable of training accounting staff employees
  • Able to analyze Balance Sheet Accounts
  • Able to prepare Journal entries, close the books, and prepare the Balance Sheet Package
  • Skilled at interviewing and evaluating applicants, as well as current employees
  • Knowledge of all the functions performed by the subordinate reporting directly or indirectly to the Corporate Controller
  • Advanced knowledge of the accounting, finance, and hospitality professions
  • Experiential knowledge for management of people and complex problems
  • Ability to analyze activities or information involving some original data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions
  • Ability to make decisions guided by established policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate clearly to provide information and services and supervisory skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills

Education/Formal Training

A four-year college degree (accounting preferred) or equivalent education/experience

Experience

Must have hotel accounting experience
