We seek a skilled journalist to produce in-depth stories on forest protection, indigenous issues, land use change, climate change, and sustainable food systems in Brazil.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in journalism, with a proven track record of producing high-quality, exclusive stories.

  • Uncover and write compelling stories about the human and economic implications of forest protection and loss, indigenous issues, land use change, climate change, and sustainable food systems in Brazil.
  • Develop a strong source network to produce forward-looking stories with depth and analysis.
  • Collaborate with NGOs, government agencies, academics, and other organizations working on these issues to uncover new storylines and promote our work.
  • Support the distribution of our stories online and via social media for maximum impact.
Key Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of journalism experience with a proven track record of exclusive stories.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • Fluency in Portuguese.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Aptitude for using social media as a journalism tool.
  • Some multimedia skills in photography, audio, and/or video shooting and production.
