About the Position
As a skilled Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in the development of cutting-edge air compressor technology for naval vessels. This challenging opportunity allows you to make a direct impact on national security while expanding your expertise in reciprocating and centrifugal compressor products.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create comprehensive compressor system solutions.
  • Analyze project costs and manage product development expenses effectively.
  • Develop and implement design requirements according to internal and contract specifications.
  • Design and analyze engineering models to support compressor product development.
  • Lead project meetings with internal stakeholders, customers, and the US Navy to drive project success.
  • Prepare procedures and training materials to ensure accurate manufacturing, assembly, and testing of products.
  • Create tooling and prepare engineering drawings and specifications to support product manufacture and testing.
  • Develop test procedures, reports, operating guidelines, maintenance plans, and other deliverables as needed.
  • Analyze test results to confirm product performance compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support the entire product lifecycle, including field support, troubleshooting, repair, and operator assistance.
  • Implement product improvement initiatives to minimize costs, enhance performance, improve reliability, and promote standardization.
  • Contribute to proposal development, reviewing contracts and specifications as necessary.
  • Maintain effective customer communication, addressing their needs promptly and efficiently.

Requirements
  • You must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances.
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred) with at least 7 years of experience in the reciprocating or centrifugal compressor industry is required.
  • Project management or leadership experience in a team environment is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with material processing knowledge (Machining and Fabrication) is essential.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (Military, ASTM, SAE, etc.) is crucial.
  • Proficiency with solid modeling software (SolidWorks preferred) is necessary.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a plus.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles is required.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is expected.
  • Superior organization, communication, and presentation skills are essential.
  • A self-motivated, action-oriented individual who can excel in an environment with individual accountability is ideal.
