We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support services.

Job Description

The Patient Care Specialist will work closely with our healthcare team to provide direct patient care, including treatments and diagnostic studies as directed by a Registered Nurse. This role involves utilizing effective communication skills, observing patient needs, and reporting changes or problems to the RN.

The ideal candidate will have six months of recent experience in direct provision of patient care activities, including treatments and/or diagnostic studies. They must also possess basic computer skills and the ability to follow direction and provide accurate reports.

This is an entry-level position, requiring minimal supervision, and offers opportunities for professional growth and development within our dynamic healthcare organization.

  • Provides direct patient care and support services under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Utilizes effective communication skills to interact with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Observes patient needs and reports changes or problems to the RN.
  • Maintains accurate records and completes quality control checks on designated equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months of recent experience in direct patient care, including treatments and/or diagnostic studies.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Other Information

Please note that this position requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting of up to 40-50 pounds. You must also be able to push/pull patients on beds and stretchers, and perform CPR as needed.
