Entity Accounting Professional

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead our entity accounting function in Sao Paulo. This key role plays a critical part in ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial statements and supporting management and senior accounting leaders in financial and statutory accounting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare financial statement footnotes and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and IFRS principles.
  • Accounting Close Support: Provide assistance with monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Accounting Policy Implementation: Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are executed according to GAAP and IFRS principles.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare fluctuation analysis and perform financial statement analytics to provide meaningful explanations for fluctuations to senior management.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and document internal controls and procedures as required by SOX to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in process streamlining and improvement projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
  • Audit Support: In charge of annual financial audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors, including preparation and review of schedules.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Interact with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Accrual Coordination: Coordinate closely with other finance teams to ensure complete and accurate accruals.
  • Leadership Support: Support leadership with accounting analysis and recommendations to inform business decisions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with active Brazilian Accounting Certification (CRC).
  • Expertise in Brazilian GAAP and applicable accounting rules and regulations.
  • Understanding of US GAAP and applicable accounting rules and regulations.
  • Experience working with SAP/ECC.
  • Five or more years of relevant work experience preferred in the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in the preparation and review of financial statements, external audit attendance, general ledger posting, and accounting reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of SOX, US GAAP, and IFRS accounting best practices and cross-functional accounting impacts.
  • Advanced English Level.
Preferred Skills:
  • Intermediate/Advanced Spanish - not mandatory but will be considered a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship, teamwork, collaborative, and hands-on.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
