Program Overview


The goal of this project is to study the Food Acquisition Program and its connection with social protection programs for artisanal fishermen. This involves analyzing the current program, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending changes to enhance its effectiveness.

Objective 1: Analyze the Brazilian Experience
This objective focuses on studying the Brazilian experience with public purchases of food from family farmers and their interconnection with social protection programs. It aims to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the existing system and identify opportunities for improvement.

Objective 2: International Experiences
Research will also be conducted on international experiences regarding social protection programs for artisanal fishermen. This includes studies on affected groups, socioeconomic impacts, and management of fish stocks. The research will provide valuable insights into the global context and help identify best practices for similar programs.

Objective 3: Present Results
The final objective is to present the findings to policymakers and civil society. The results will be presented in a clear and concise manner, highlighting the key takeaways and recommendations for improving the Food Acquisition Program and related social protection initiatives.
Qualifications
  • An advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in social sciences or economics or public/social policy.
  • Minimum of 03 years of research experience in public policies in the areas of social protection, food security, health, public procurement for family farmers, and/or related topics.

Language Requirements
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English.
