Job Description:

  • Act as the responsible engineer for all rotating machinery, including compressors, blowers, pumps, and cooling towers, on assigned projects throughout various phases.
  • Develop engineering design documentation, such as specifications, data sheets, inspection plans, and scope of work, in accordance with applicable codes and industry standards.
  • Assist and direct design teams for developing process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, drawings, bills of materials, and other deliverables.
  • Coordinate equipment engineering activities with internal and external resources to produce engineering deliverables on schedule and within budget.
  • Participate in weekly project team meetings and provide progress status on equipment design and procurement.
  • Develop bid and purchase packages, issue requests for quotations, evaluate bids, and create purchase requisitions.
  • Review, validate, and approve vendor proposals, calculations, drawings, and documentation.
  • Witness machinery testing at vendor manufacturing sites.
  • Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical design of industrial rotating equipment in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Experience in selecting and specifying process rotating equipment and associated systems.
  • Strong knowledge of machinery vibration analysis, FAT inspections, and performance testing evaluation procedures.
  • Ability to review and validate supplier calculations, drawings, and documentation for purchased equipment compliance.
  • Excellent computer and Microsoft Office software skills.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
