We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Specialist to join our team at Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd. in São Paulo or Metropolitan region of Minas Gerais. As a key member of our service team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our solar inverters and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform lead roles on complex field engineering assignments, including pre-commissioning and commissioning of solar inverters.
- Conduct Preventive Maintenance and O&M activities as needed, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency of our solar inverters.
- Perform electrical and electronic troubleshooting and testing of solar inverters and its components in the field or in the laboratory.
- Collaborate with customers to investigate solar plant issues, such as DC arrays grid faults, inverter design issues, and utility grid transients.
- Lead upgrade projects (software and hardware) in the field, interacting with customers to explain the technical scope of the project.
- Work closely with customer SCADA engineers to set-up systems communication and parameters.
- Develop and maintain Field Service procedures for trouble-shooting and maintenance.
- Participate in training material development for customers, as requested by the Training Manager.
- Research alternative components for use in the field, coordinating with R&D engineering in China as needed.
- Take the lead on projects such as upgrades or retrofit, as well as commissioning.
- Independently perform a range of field service tasks, including communication with Factory Engineering and Customer's solar plant engineer.
- Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistic, financial, and program management disciplines to maintain the solar plants.
- Support repair activities in the Service center, preparing, delivering, and submitting field reports to customers and management.
- Conduct site visits, experimental investigations, and analyze engineering problems, proposing solutions and alternatives, and providing recommendations.
- Previous experience in Field Service and solar inverters.
- Ability to work with test equipment and hand tools as required.
- Customer service, problem-solving skills, and decision-making and analytical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Closely follow instruction and pre-established procedures/SOP to perform the duties of the job.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Electrical Safety.
- Bachelor's degree or Technical degree with equivalent experience.
- Solar industry experience is required.
- Technical problem-solving/analytical skills.
- Self-starter, strong initiatives, and an excellent communicator.
- System and product level mindset.
- Organization, detailed-oriented nature, and strong initiative.
- Strong technical support focus and a service-oriented individual both with Sales team and customers.
São Paulo or Metropolitan region of Minas Gerais (Juiz de Fora, Montes Claros, Pirapora, or Belo Horizonte) Office in Osasco, SP.
Availability to national and international travels (70-80%).
