Cloud Support Database Engineer Job Summary

Guidewire is seeking a proactive and solution-driven Cloud Platform Support Database Engineer to join our dynamic Global Support team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide primary support for customers, investigating and resolving incidents in adherence to team standards.
  2. Support Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Aurora databases in production and non-production environments.
  3. Document technical articles, including troubleshooting guides and knowledge base articles.
  4. Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the database, platform, and applications through company-sponsored training and experience.
  5. Collaborate with development and support teams, foster strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, and serve as a trusted advisor and technical point of contact.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  2. At least 3 years of experience working with and troubleshooting Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL, or other database technologies.
  3. Working knowledge of one or more database high availability technologies and database data replication tools is an advantage.
  4. Unix/Linux general administration skills and/or Python/PowerShell scripting is a distinct advantage.
  5. Experience working with AWS services, such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Kubernetes, to deploy and manage Java applications in a cloud environment is a plus.
  6. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with great attention to detail, ability to think critically, and display aptitude for problem-solving.
  7. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to explain complex technical concepts to a varied audience.
