About This Role
This senior specialist position plays a critical role in ensuring the organization conducts business with the highest ethical standards.
Policies and Procedures:
- Develop policies and procedures for the region as requested by management.
- Review, interpret, update, and execute our policies and corporate procedures.
Training and Communication:
- Support training curriculum for new and current employees.
- Execute the compliance education program continuously.
- Support training activities related to commercial partners and vendors.
- Foster ongoing awareness among employees about the importance of compliance with high standards of ethics and integrity through regular communication.
- Develop a local plan of communication to promote use and access to the compliance site, reviewing regional and local procedures and policies relevant to the business.
Day-to-day Advice:
- Ensure the compliance and ethics program provides effective prevention and detection of potential misconduct that could result in compliance or ethics violations.
- Support business activities such as reviewing commercial partnerships, donations, sponsorships, and the launch of new products while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
- Provide appropriate guidance and partner with different business units and functional areas.
- Provide accountability, governance, and speed with promotion of ethical decision-making processes.
Monitoring:
- SUPPORT follow up initiatives aiming to assure compliance with the policies and procedures that include but are not limited to anti-corruption, gifts and entertainment, employee disclosures, promotional activities, expenses, and COI.
Requirements:
- A minimum of five years' experience in a comparable function in government, law firm, or in-house law department, finance, internal controls, internal audit, or forensic audit departments.
- University degree from an accredited college, preferably in Law, Engineering, Finance, or Accounting.
- Conceptual knowledge of technology systems and programs is preferred, with experience in learning management systems a plus.
- Proficient in Google and/or MS Suite.
- Must be proficient in both English and Portuguese, with at least intermediate knowledge of Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Integrity, creativity, decisiveness, and good judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
- Self-starting ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Strong project management skills with the capability to establish action plans, set clear goals, monitor, and communicate progress, and execute on all initiatives to completion with minimum direct supervision.
- Ability to address conflict and difficult situations in a professional, calm, assertive, and proactive manner.
- Able to build and maintain key relationships with both internal and external customers.
