We are seeking a seasoned Compliance Officer to join our team in Brazil.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with expertise in compliance and anti-money laundering (AML) to take on a challenging role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance-related field, preferably within the fintech or payment industry. They will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local regulations, developing and maintaining policies and procedures, and overseeing merchant onboarding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, including Brazilian Central Bank rules and LGPD (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados).
  • Develop and maintain local policies and procedures to comply with local AML, KYC, and channels requirements.
  • Ongoing monitoring of transactions and client behavior to detect and report suspicious activities.
  • Oversee merchants onboarding processes and industries to ensure compliance with local regulations and have proper risk assessment.
  • Review local licensing frameworks and triggers, and serve as the key point of contact with legal and law firm for licensing preparation.
  • Implement a compliance training program for employees working with the LatAm region.
  • Ensure data privacy and security standards are followed.
  • Have ownership of data verification processes and compliance vendors relationship and payment application.
  • Assess regulatory risks in new products or services.
  • Update the company's compliance framework in response to changes in local regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of solid experience in a compliance and AML related discipline, preferably within the fintech or payment industry.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Fintech/E-wallets/Online Payment, with relevant AML Compliance Advisory experience.
  • Be a trusted advisor and build sound relationships with stakeholders across all lines of businesses, and across functional groups.
  • CAMS or other similar qualifications are preferred.
