Inventory and Distribution Director

This is a strategic role where you will oversee the end-to-end management of inventory and distribution operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing inventory strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce holding costs.
About the Position
The successful candidate will ensure optimal stock levels, efficient distribution of finished goods, and alignment with sales forecasts to support business growth and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Inventory Strategies: Create and execute inventory strategies to balance market demand, service levels, and working capital efficiency.
- Stock Policy Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain a robust stock policy for finished goods that considers inventory turnover, order fulfillment, and distribution efficiency.
- Timely and Accurate Distribution: Ensure timely and accurate distribution of finished goods to distribution centers and retail outlets.
- Logistics Process Management: Define and manage logistics processes for both proprietary and third-party products.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to align inventory with demand forecasts.
- KPI Establishment and Monitoring: Establish and monitor KPIs for inventory turnover, order fulfillment, and distribution efficiency.
- Infrastructure and System Design: Design and maintain infrastructure and systems for effective warehousing and transportation.
- Compliance and Regulatory Standards: Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in storage and distribution.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain performance.
- Relationship Management: Manage relationships with logistics providers and negotiate contracts to optimize costs.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports and analysis for senior management on inventory and distribution metrics.
Requirements
- Relocation: Willing and able to relocate to Angola.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in inventory and distribution management, preferably in FMCG.
- Proven Track Record: Proven track record of managing complex supply chain operations.
- Lean Methodologies and Continuous Improvement: Experience with lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
- FMC&Prior Experience: Prior FMCG experience will be a plus.
- Influence Decision Makers: Ability to influence decision makers.
- Analytical Mindset: Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Leadership and Team Management Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills.
