Design Manager

You will manage a team of designers and lead client-facing design work to deliver high-quality visual communications that meet client requirements and deadlines.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and mentor a team of designers to deliver design solutions for client teams and business partners, advise team and stakeholders on project work, and effectively explain strategic design implications.
  • Track team performance, including adherence to KPIs, service levels, and operating principles. Independently analyze information to distill key insights and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of your own work and your team's work, supporting the team on prioritized tasks and effectively meeting evolving business objectives.
  • Act as a design and project lead on client experience projects and oversee the work of designers on the team to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Serve as a thought partner for client teams and business partners to transform insights and ideas into clear, engaging visual communications.
  • Encourage effective team collaboration to achieve team priorities by continuously sharing learnings and best practices with all team members; add value to the department by acting as advisor for important issues and initiatives.
  • Coach and guide individual performance and growth through timely feedback, project debriefs, and regular professional development check-ins; demonstrate role model behavior that promotes wellbeing in others, sharing knowledge and expertise across team members.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead design projects for clients, working closely with client teams and business partners to develop high-quality design solutions that effectively communicate the client's message and objectives.
Qualifications:
  • You have a degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, preferably rooted in graphic design and/or communications.
  • You have strong leadership and experience managing designers.
  • You have professional fluency in written and spoken English.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • You have expert proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
NICE TO HAVE:
  • Experience working in a consulting or fast-paced client service environment.
  • Familiarity with data visualization best practices.
  • Speak Spanish or German.
  • Experience with Workflow Tools such as Workfront, Trello, Jira, etc.
