z/OS Site Reliability Engineer Role

A Systems Operations and Infrastructure Services Professional is required to maintain and enhance the z environment, including z/OS Storage Management, Configuration, Performance, Capacity, and Networking tools. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Cloud Infrastructure and Network technologies, with a strong understanding of mainframe environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support using problem determination and source identification skills;
  • Collaborate with other support operations to prioritize and diagnose problems to resolution;
  • Recommend and implement optimization and automation of technical support tools, procedures, and processes;
  • Provide training and mentorship for team members.
Requirements
  • Deep knowledge of z/OS Base, z/Storage, or z/Config support in mainframe environments;
  • Experience in Cloud Infrastructure and Knowledge of Network technologies;
  • Ability to solve complex problems and have experience in installation, configuration, high availability, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and security & compliance activities;
  • Experience working with global teams and people from multiple locations;
  • Experience in Data Center Management and Migrations;
  • Experience in Disaster Recovery;
  • Experience in Modernization and Automation;
  • Autonomy to work independently and target agreed-upon goals with an innovative mindset;
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Skills
  • JES3;
  • REXX programming experience;
  • Ansible experience on Mainframe;
  • Zowe, ZOAU, R3S knowledge;
  • Other zOS Middleware (DB2, IMS) or Base/Storage/TWS/Network/Netview systems management/support experience;
  • Experience in automation and execution of tests/automation of new workloads.
