Key Responsibilities
  • Close the month end process efficiently.
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulators, such as financial statements, in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Develop and manage entity-wide balance sheet reconciliation processes.
  • Work on data analysis, GL review, and reconciliation projects.
  • Calculate amounts and raise relevant general ledger journals for specific accounts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial and regulatory reporting to group stakeholders.
  • Contribute to automation and streamlining of month-end processes.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of business operations.
  • Produce and review primary and supplementary data for group reporting, along with detailed business commentary.
  • Liaise with business areas and stakeholders, challenging numbers and obtaining required information.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and provide ad-hoc analysis for senior management.
  • Participate in local product discussions and contribute to system changes and transformation projects.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Accounting qualification and proficiency in IFRS and Bacen GAAP.
  • Ability to understand business activities, products, processes, and systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and database management.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and rapid learning capability.
  • Experience working in an accounting role within a financial institution.
  • Proficiency in English and Portuguese languages.
  • Accounting degree and additional qualifications preferred.
