Bridge Inspector Manager

This role supports the District's bridge inspection TEC Lead with business development and winning contracts for VDOT and other transportation agencies.
The incumbent plans, schedules, and performs bridge inspections in accordance with specific Bridge Owners' requirements, ensuring compliance with NBIS and AASHTO standards.
Liaison work with client field/facility staff involves communicating critical condition findings.
Directing other field team members is also a key responsibility.
Ensuring safe operations in the field and enforcing company policies are crucial aspects of this role.
The incumbent creates or assists with creating and reviewing all required inspection reports.
Technical compliance with applicable standards and specifications is essential.
Requirements:- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- 10+ years of experience in bridge inspection (NBIS) with PennDOT and other transportation clients.
- Project Manager/Team Leader experience in PA and other states as necessary.
- Extensive successful management of bridge inspection projects for PennDOT.
- Attendance of NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course and additional PennDOT mandated courses/trainings.
- Attendance of additional NHI courses (e.g., NSTM, LRFR and Scour related).
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
- Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
- Works independently with minimal oversight and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
- Physically capable of performing continuous field work including working at heights and in close quarters, climbing, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to think critically and solve problems.
- Ability to work well in team-oriented structure.
- Valid, unrestricted driver's license.
- Ability to supervise, train and direct the work of team members.
- Cognizant of time and budget management.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Must successfully complete and pass Motor Vehicle screening.
