The IT Business Consultant role involves maintaining, optimizing and expanding the Production Information Management System (PIMS) landscape. This includes supporting the SAP Digital Manufacturing initiative with a global pilot in Brazil.
This consultant will work closely with a global team to provide end-to-end support for OSIsoft PI systems and related architecture components.
Key Responsibilities- Administer, install and configure OSIsoft PI System components and interfaces.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and optimize real-time data historian performance.
- Create and manage PI tags, PI AF, PI Vision dashboards and PI Batch configurations.
- Ensure data integrity, security and consistency across historian layers.
- Implement and manage system cybersecurity.
- Develop reports and dashboards for production insights and operational decision-making.
- Collaborate on integration projects between PI System, ERP, LIMS and other systems.
- Design, manage and support cloud and on-premise data infrastructures.
- Participate in global projects, vendor management and lifecycle planning for PIMS.
- Contribute to user training, documentation and stakeholder communication.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- Solid experience with OSIsoft PI System: interfaces, tag configuration, PI Vision, Asset Framework and PI Batch.
- Experience with real-time system administration and PI security management.
- Proficiency in database management and SQL Server administration.
- Experience with OPC servers/clients, API integration and web services.
- Knowledge of network architecture: TCP/IP, routing, ports, switches and cabling.
- Experience with firewall setup and configuration.
- Familiarity with Windows Server, VMware/Hyper-V and cloud platforms.
- Understanding of system backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Project management experience preferably in international environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- Adaptability in fast-paced environments.
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative team spirit working across departments and cultures.
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and proactive issue identification.
- Fluent English language.
