This is a high-impact role where you will be responsible for expanding our analytical profile and footprint in the ferrous sector in North America. You will develop new datasets and reports, lifting our analytical profile and supporting marketing and commercial initiatives.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced commodity analyst to join our Commodity Briefing Service team. As a senior ferrous commodities specialist, you will take responsibility for developing and overseeing production of monthly Steel & Ferrous Scrap CBS reports, and other content. You will launch new forecasts and analysis based on supply and demand fundamentals, policy initiatives, and other factors.

Our Commodity Briefing Service team provides expert insight into the metals and mining sector. We leverage off an unsurpassed level of experience and data from worldwide exploration, development, and production to strategic planning and acquisitions activity. Our products and services help clients benchmark and value new business opportunities, monitor competitors and market trends, and act on strategies more confidently and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Development and mentorship of a team of analysts covering steel and ferrous scrap.
- Assessing impacts of energy transition efforts on future demand for relevant commodities.
- Researching, analyzing, and publishing commentary on topical events pertinent to the ferrous and aluminum sectors.
- Ensuring regular publishing and production of price forecasts, quarterly reports, and topical analysis.
- Participation in business development activities and external representations as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Expert-level experience as a commodity analyst in the ferrous sector. Understanding of environmental, social, and governance concerns pertinent to the mining industry. A degree educated background, preferably with direct exposure to a broader suite of commodities. Advanced MS Excel skills and solid numeric analytical capabilities. Familiarity with VBA, SQL, or Python programming languages.
