Job Title: Multimodal Content Leadership

Join a dynamic team of software engineers and leaders as we redefine the boundaries of search and information retrieval. As a Senior Manager, Multimodal Content and Platform, you will play a key role in shaping our multimodal content strategy and driving innovation in search technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and scale our platform for content acquisition, ingestion, serving, and ranking, focused on multimodal content and User Generated Content (UGC).
  • Drive efforts to organize and understand multimodal content, making it universally accessible across Google Search.
  • Enhance content quality, expand capabilities for new applications, and collaborate with various product teams.
  • Advance multimodal content infrastructure for the benefit of all Search teams.
  • Enable key partners in Search to become a more answer-forward interface by providing foundational capabilities for multimodal content understanding.

As a seasoned leader, you will have a proven track record of managing technical projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving business results. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that align with our company's vision and goals.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Infrastructure Design, Systems Infrastructure, Multimodal Machine Learning, Content Ingestion, Online Content Production.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, as well as 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
