Behavioral Health Technicians play a vital role in the lives of children and adolescents who require support with emotional and behavioral challenges. They work one-on-one with clients, providing tailored interventions to help them develop essential life skills and achieve independence.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with this population, preferably in a behavioral health setting. A strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and practices is necessary for success in this role.

A Behavioral Health Technician must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as they will interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals on a daily basis. The ability to set clear boundaries and provide positive reinforcement is crucial in maintaining a productive and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized services to clients with emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Implement ABA-based interventions to promote skill development and independence.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to stay current on best practices and industry developments.
Requirements
  • Certified as BCaBA, RBT, or BCAT, or equivalent experience in behavioral health services.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2 years' experience working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Familiarity with ABA principles and practices.
