Job Description

Biosolids Management Specialist leads the development and implementation of business strategies across North America in coordination with Water Business Group leadership and other technical directors. This role reports to a senior leader and coordinates with regional leaders to advance biosolids practice. The specialist will initiate and support frequent communication on biosolids market leadership, treatment technologies, regulatory compliance, and delivery of key biosolids projects.

  • Participate in strategic planning activities and assist in developing strategic positioning for areas in different regions. Lead the organization and preparation of a business plan for solids processing and biosolids management.
  • Conduct an assessment of marketplace opportunities, gauge prospects, and develop prioritized client targets.
  • Develop discreet biosolids business plans for local offices in coordination with area business development managers and WBG leaders.
  • Leverage industry contacts to expand relationships with technical staff and clients in key locations aligned with biosolids development plans.
  • Lead the development of project experience qualifications and marketing materials related to biosolids management and solids processing.
  • Lead direct project pursuits including client relationship development, pre-marketing, proposal content development, and contract negotiations.

The Biosolids Management Specialist will collaborate across regions and business lines to grow biosolids services and participate in national committees and policy bodies as appropriate.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering or a related sciences discipline is required. A Master's degree is preferred.

Experience: 15+ years of technical experience with all aspects of wastewater biosolids processing, including thickening/dewatering, digestion, advanced stabilization, thermal hydrolysis, heat drying, beneficial end use, resource recovery, and regulatory compliance.

Registration: Professional Engineer registration is desired.

Skills: Project management experience, invoicing, budget and schedule controls, management of project staff, client development, workshops, presentations, proposal content development, and business development strategy.

Leadership: Experience in managing or leading process mechanical projects, including digester and biogas facilities at wastewater treatment plants.
