Compensation Data Analyst

As a skilled data analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effectiveness and accuracy of sales compensation programs through robust analytics and reporting.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in data analysis to provide actionable insights that optimize sales performance, drive strategic decision-making, and ensure equitable compensation for the sales force.

  • Develop, maintain, and automate recurring sales compensation reports and dashboards using Tableau to track performance against targets, identify trends, and highlight areas for improvement
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of sales performance data, compensation plan effectiveness, and quota attainment to provide strategic recommendations to sales leadership
  • Identify data discrepancies and work cross-functionally to resolve issues, ensuring data integrity across all reporting
  • Support the annual and ongoing sales compensation planning process through data modeling, impact analysis, and scenario planning
  • Prepare presentations and communicate complex analytical findings clearly and concisely to diverse audiences
  • Extract, transform, and load data from various sources, primarily utilizing SQL, to support compensation calculations and reporting
  • Work extensively with Salesforce.com (SFDC) to extract sales performance data, understand sales hierarchies, and validate compensation-related information
  • Collaborate with IT and other cross-functional teams to improve data accessibility and reporting capabilities
  • Partner closely with Sales Operations, Finance, and HR to ensure alignment on compensation strategies and accurate data flow
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests and provide analytical support to various stakeholders
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field
  • 5+ years of experience in a data analysis role
  • Proficiency in SQL with demonstrated ability to write complex queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets
  • Proficiency in Tableau with proven experience in developing interactive dashboards and reports for business users
  • Experience with Salesforce.com (SFDC) or modern CRM tool
