They are also required to collaborate with project managers to coordinate timelines, resources, and budgets.
Ultimately, Civil Draughtsmen play a crucial role in shaping the built environment through their technical expertise and creative vision.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed architectural and structural drawings for building construction projects.
- Develop general arrangement (GA) drawings, foundation plans, sections, elevations, and detail drawings.
- Support the design team by translating conceptual sketches and technical data into accurate CAD drawings.
- Collaborate on the development of structural layouts, floor plans, and utility networks.
- Update and revise designs based on feedback from engineers, architects, or site observations.
- Ensure all drawings comply with local building codes, design standards, and project specifications.
- Maintain organized and version-controlled drawing files within the design department.
- Familiarity with Revit, Civil 3D, or other BIM software is advantageous.
- Understanding of construction methods, site logistics, and temporary works.
- Experience with local authority drawing submissions and approval processes.
- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering / Drafting Technology or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a draughtsman in the building construction or architectural design industry.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit, Civil 3D, or other BIM tools are a strong advantage.
- Good understanding of civil and structural design principles and building systems.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
