Complex Budget Specialist for Minerals and Metals Business Line

Estimate Control Engineer, Master - Join our minerals and metals business line in Belo Horizonte - MG office.

The Estimate Control Engineer, Master will be responsible for preparing complex budgets and technical proposals for engineering projects in the mining sector. This role involves defining commercial and technical strategies during bidding processes, ensuring competitiveness and feasibility of proposals. The professional will play a key role in interfacing with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and clients, contributing directly to project success from conception through contract award.

1. Budget Preparation: Prepare detailed budgets for engineering and construction projects in the mining sector (greenfield and brownfield).
2. Technical Proposal Development: Develop technical proposals aligned with client requirements and company standards.
3. Proposal Analysis: Analyze bid documents, terms of reference, and technical specifications, identifying risks, opportunities, and project scope.
4. Pricing Strategy: Define pricing strategies, cost composition, margins, and technical solutions to enhance proposal competitiveness.
5. Client Interface: Participate in meetings with clients, suppliers, and partners for technical and commercial alignment.
6. Feasibility Studies: Conduct technical and economic feasibility studies, proposing cost optimization alternatives.
7. Quantity Survey: Coordinate quantity surveys, physical-financial schedules, and construction methodologies.
8. Team Collaboration: Interact with engineering, procurement, legal, HSE, and operations teams to ensure proposal consistency.
9. Market Trends: Monitor market trends, benchmarks, and reference costs in the mining sector.
10. Training and Development: Support training and development of junior and mid-level engineers in the proposals team.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Civil, Mining, Mechanical, or related fields).
• Postgraduate Degree: Postgraduate degree or MBA in areas such as Project Management, Cost Engineering, or similar.
• Experience: Solid experience (minimum of 10 years) in cost estimation and technical proposal development in the mining sector.
• Project Experience: Experience with EPC, EPCM, or integrated contract projects.
• Cost Estimation Methodologies: Advanced knowledge of cost estimation methodologies (CAPEX/OPEX).
• Tools and Skills: Proficiency in tools such as advanced MS Excel, MS Project.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, strategic vision, proactivity, and negotiation abilities.
• Language Skills: Intermediate or advanced English.
• Previous Experience: Previous experience in engineering companies focused on large-scale mining.
