Job Title: Client Development Manager - Renewable Energy and Carbon Advisory

We are seeking a highly skilled Client Development Manager to join our team at Schneider Electric. As a Client Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and developing strategic advisory opportunities with new and existing clients in the renewable energy and carbon advisory space.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and develop strategic advisory opportunities with new and existing clients in the renewable energy and carbon advisory space.
  • Hunt for new business development opportunities and demonstrate a proven ability to generate and follow up on leads by making contact with prospects and creating interest in Schneider's RECA offerings.
  • Develop and leverage deep subject-matter expertise, particularly in strategic renewable energy contract structures, to craft a solution to meet a unique client lead by acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Communicate and interact with business decision makers at all levels to identify needs and requirements as well as market opportunities.
  • Demonstrate deep subject matter expertise in renewable energy procurement, strategy, and ongoing operational services.
  • Gain proficiency in leading initial conversations and collaboratively selling other offers within the energy and sustainability services sphere, including but not limited to:
  • Lead and move prospects through the sales cycle.
  • Negotiate and close sales that vary in contract length and fee range.
  • Meet agreed annual sales and revenue targets.
  • Originate an agreed upon number and value of cross-sell opportunities within Sustainability Business (SB).
  • Diligently maintain prospect (CRM) database information, including demonstrated ability to generate new reports, train junior employees, etc.
  • Champion the RECA offer within SB, including engagement with the Client Management team, SB Sales teams, and wider Schneider Strategic Account Executives within owned segments.
  • Create, lead, and document training and mentorship initiatives with newer team members and sales leaders.
  • Participate in and lead client delivery of RE strategy as appropriate to deepen client relationship and expand into RE procurement.
  • Create, lead, or co-lead one or more strategic initiatives within RECA. Examples include leading a new venture/service opportunity or evolving an existing offer.
  • Represent the business at online and in-person events.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Solid experience in corporate renewable energy advisory sales with a leading advisor.
  • Strong closing ability and track record, having achieved sales targets each year.
  • Strong understanding of the Brazilian renewable energy advisory landscape (including competitors, potential partners, and the NGO community).
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close deals and navigate the internal approvals/negotiation process within RECA and Schneider skillfully (legal reviews, Director and VP involvement, etc.).
  • Proven track record of self-starting to hunt and fill pipeline proactively when necessary; does not expect leads to 'come to them,' but fully understands the RECA world of opportunity and actively seeks to maximize the leads for themselves and the rest of the team.
  • Ability to manage time and capacity to maximize overall team success, including delegating/giving leads to others when needed and managing own capacity to manage work and personal life.
  • Displays a consistent positive attitude and collaborative spirit even in stressful situations.
  • Proficiency in a Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint) and Salesforce environment.
  • Ability to successfully negotiate complex contractual agreements with prospects and clients.
  • Travel often required to support sales activity (20-50%).
  • Persistence in follow-up of leads and movement of prospects through the sales cycle, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Interfacing with and presenting and selling to all management levels at Fortune 500 companies, up to the C-Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and fluency in English is mandatory. Fluent Spanish would be beneficial and a differentiator.
  • Excellent sales methodology and organizational skills.
