As a member of the surgical team, this role participates in ensuring quality patient care during operative procedures while maintaining a sterile field. Anticipates the surgeon's needs and handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for the procedure.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to facilitate safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring a safe environment in the operating room.
  • Performs appropriate surgical counts according to facility policy and organizes case carts for upcoming procedures.
  • Works with the operating room circulator prior to a surgical procedure to prepare the operating room, gather and prepare sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Prepares and maintains the sterile field using sterile and aseptic techniques, ensuring surgical equipment is functioning properly and safely.
  • Performs in-between case cleaning turnover in the operating room suite.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Diploma from a technical school LPN program.
  • Less than one year experience.
  • Ability to adapt to constant change within a healthcare setting.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of medical and surgical supplies and sterile techniques.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania certification upon hire.
  • LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania licensure upon hire.
