The Role of an Automation Developer

We are looking for a highly skilled Automation Developer to join our ServiceNow team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT infrastructure, ITSM and automation/orchestration tools.

Job Description:

This is a challenging role that requires the ability to understand real life processes and procedures and translate them into easily usable scripts or conversation flows. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing large and complex automation solutions ensuring that the methods and tools are consistent with agreed standards.

The role will involve working closely with the Product automation team to improve existing systems and platforms and drive the implementation of new products. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior programmers via joint design and code reviews.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop expertise and certification in ServiceNow
  • Work closely with the Product automation team
  • Mentor junior programmers
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or related discipline
  • High degree of technical skill across a broad range of areas in IT infrastructure, ITSM and automation/orchestration tools
  • Knowledge of 1 or more programming languages, with a preference for Javascript and Node.js platforms
  • 3-4 years' experience in ServiceNow development
  • Understanding of technology and architecture concepts on platforms such as Office 365, Azure and vendor specific technologies & APIs
  • Strong algorithm design & problem-solving approach
