About the Role:
  • This role requires the ability to teach learners various techniques, including history-taking, physical examination, communication, and empathy.
  • As a Standardized Patient Instructor, you will engage learners by providing step-by-step instructions on techniques, using your body as a teaching tool.

You will work closely with administrators, faculty, students, and staff of the department and University. This role requires flexibility and reliability in scheduling and assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret the mission and aim of the Simulation and Clinical Skills Center
  • Competently simulate all aspects of scenarios, including history of current problem, affect/behavior, and physical findings
  • Interpret program curriculum to healthcare learners
  • Serve as a role model
  • Maintain current simulation and clinical skills knowledge

Prior experience as an SP or in an academic, healthcare, or simulation learning environment is preferred.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Computer literacy and proficiency
  • Completion of the Introduction to Standardized Methodology workshop
