Job Title: Import Specialist

JAS Worldwide is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Import Specialist to join our team. As an Import Specialist, you will play a critical role in processing and handling air and ocean import shipments for our customers, ensuring the highest quality standards and providing service solutions that meet or exceed our customer's requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, review, and process customs entries and documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Process customs releases and track shipments, updating clients on status and delays.
  • Dispatch freight for delivery, maintain communication with truckers, and collect proof of delivery.
  • Bill and invoice customers, ensuring timely payment and accurate accounting.
  • Resolve discrepancies and reconcile incorrect payables with vendors and overseas offices.
  • Assist sales and department managers in compiling quotes and providing accurate job costing forecasts.
  • Provide responsive customer service and maintain effective communication with clients.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; minimum 3 years' experience in imports or a combination of education and expertise.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of US customs laws, practices, and procedures, as well as experience with import entry procedures, compliance, and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Work Environment:

This is a 100% office-based position, working in a climate-controlled environment under normal office conditions.

The employee will be required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear. The employee may be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch, and lift weights up to 25 pounds.

The employee is expected to follow the Company HR Policy, Code of Business Conduct, and department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company information and attending work punctually and regularly.
