About the Role

Applus IDIADA is a global leader in the automotive industry, providing design, engineering, testing, and homologation services to its clients. We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Systems Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute System level Design Verification Plans (DVP) for new programs and internal component change projects.
  2. Manage DVP documentation and execute bench testing, in-vehicle performance, and functional testing.
  3. Triage transmission-related issues occurring in various fleets and provide fast feedback to improve customer satisfaction and meet quality metrics.
  4. Systematically diagnose root causes and support development of corrective actions.
  5. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of many Global Internal Manufacturing (GIM) issues and support corrective action development and identification.
  6. Identify system-level transmission performance targets and support debug efforts of new program vehicle phases.
  7. Support Vehicle Assembly plant and generate draft test plans to establish cost and timing for bulletin response roll-ups.
  8. Release oil fill process specifications for Transmission and Vehicle Plant procedures.
  9. Maintain Technical Infrastructure documentation, including DVP and Test Procedures.
  10. Review and edit Owners Manual, Service Manual, and Diagnostics Manual documentation.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in the automotive industry or product engineering design, validation, and engineering projects development with OEM and/or tier 1/2 supplier.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in transmission, driveline, and axles or related area.
  • Thorough understanding of vehicle functions and general vehicle architecture.
  • Understanding of typical automotive manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Leadership, organization, planning, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships and uncertainty through effective communication and experience.
  • Proactive, learning, self-driven, teamwork-oriented.
  • Efficient work under pressure and high communication skills.
  • Training in problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to lead and manage Suppliers.
  • Some travel required to Supplier and Corporate Engine/Transmission/Vehicle Assembly Plants.
  • Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
Education
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or similar.
  • Master's degree highly desired.
Language
  • Advanced English language skills (Speak, Read, and Write).
