Job Title: Middle Mile Logistics Manager

Job Summary

The Middle Mile Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the logistics and transportation operations involving the movement of goods between distribution centers, fulfillment centers, and other key locations.

This role involves managing the flow of goods to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies to optimize supply chain operations, coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders, and monitor transportation costs and performance metrics.

  • Develop and implement optimized supply chain strategies.
  • Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Monitor transportation costs, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive efficiency and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including warehouse operations, procurement, and inventory management to streamline operations.
  • Analyze transportation routes, modes of transport, and delivery schedules to improve service levels and reduce lead times.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in logistics operations.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of logistics specialists and coordinators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics, or transportation operations, with a focus on the Middle Mile segment.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and supply chain software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices, transportation regulations, and market trends in logistics.
  • Certification in supply chain management or logistics (e.g., CSCMP, APICS) is a plus.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is desirable.
