Job Summary

The Finance Manager will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of services in an emergency setting. This position will oversee all financial and accounting activities, ensuring compliance with organizational and donor regulations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Financial Management
    • Develop and implement financial policies, systems, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
    • Manage financial resources, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws.
  • Accounting and Reporting
    • Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure accurate and timely financial data entry and reconciliation.
    • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts.
  • Training and Capacity Building
    • Develop and implement training programs for finance staff to increase their skills and knowledge.
    • Provide technical support to country programs and logistics.
  • Working Relationships
    • Maintain frequent communication with Regional Finance Coordinator.
    • Work with direct line manager, senior management, and field teams to ensure coordination of programs within budgeted targets.
  • Representation
    • Serve as the principal liaison with donors on matters related to the program.
    • Participate in donor meetings and communicate relevant information to HQ.
  • Compliance & Ethics
    • Promote and encourage a culture of compliance and ethics throughout International Medical Corps.
  • General
    • Deployed personnel are expected to assist with the setup, maintenance, and demobilization of the clinical spaces and base camp as required.
  • Policy Adherence
    • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards.
    • Adhere to the Code of Conduct, maintain humanitarian principles, and respect international humanitarian law at all times.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Typically, a University's degree in Accounting or Business Administration; preferably a Master's degree.
  • Experience
    • Typically, 7+ years of relevant and progressive experience in the finance field, with a minimum of 3+ years of managerial experience in a non-profit organization.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Extensive experience in the administrative and financial management of overseas programs at the management level.
    • Extensive experience in working with computerized accounting systems, preferably Deltek- Costpoint, TM1.
    • Comprehensive knowledge and working experience with USAID, UN Agencies, World Bank, EU, DfID and other donors.
    • Skills and knowledge in program sustainability and capacity building, public-private partnerships, and project management.
    • Strong writing and presentation skills.
    • Proven capabilities in leadership required.
    • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and organization skills.
