**Job Opportunity: Technical Expertise**
We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Technical Advisor. This position involves providing expert technical advice and support for the implementation of programme activities in Rio de Janeiro.
The ideal candidate will have strong collaboration skills, working closely with operational, technical, and communications teams in UN-Habitat's Rio de Janeiro office, as well as local project teams, staff from other UN Agencies, government officials, media, donors, and civil society organisations.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality technical assistance to the Programme according to programme documents and agreement signed.
- Develop and review products aligning with agreed outcomes and indicators.
- Coordinate the preparation of workplans, narrative progress reports, and expenditure status reports for the UN-Habitat office in Rio de Janeiro.
- Establish systems for programme planning, implementation, and monitoring in collaboration with partners.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to programme success, including challenges or omissions and other situations that may impact development and implementation.
- Provide information on successful practices and experiences for systematisation and exchange with regional offices and headquarters divisions.
- E nsure technical activities meet quality expectations of the Agency and its counterparts.
- Offer technical support on localising and implementing international agreements and frameworks, such as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the New Urban Agenda.
