Housekeeping Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Housekeeper/Room Attendant.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently and with others, and have knowledge of cleaning products and procedures in a hotel setting.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and disinfecting guest rooms to maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Preparing bed and bath linens for guest rooms
  • Cleaning and straightening rooms to ensure they meet hotel standards
  • Displaying and replacing amenities and promotional materials as needed
  • Ordering repairs when necessary
  • Returns articles left in rooms to Lost and Found
  • Keeps supply carts stocked at all times
  • Organizes and cleans linen closet regularly
  • Notifies the Housekeeping Department of stock shortages and/or malfunctioning equipment
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Able to work independently and with others in a team environment
  • Able to multitask and prioritize duties effectively
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and procedures in a hotel setting is essential
  • Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility, and uses teamwork when providing guest service
  • Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution, and follows through when resolving guest problems
  • Ability to deal well with people in a professional and courteous manner
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and verbally in English
Physical Requirements
  • Applicants must have the physical capability to lift, push, or pull at least 30-50 pounds
  • Also, applicants must have the ability to use abdominal and back muscles and be able to stand for the duration of the shift
  • Must also have the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists, and to reach and stretch, bend, kneel, and squat
