Cleaner Job Description

The Cleaner Specialist is a vital staff member, ensuring the facility's cleanliness and meeting member expectations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning glass doors, windows, and mirrors
  • Wiping down equipment
  • Emptying trash receptacles daily
  • Sweeping and mopping floors
  • Changing light bulbs as necessary
  • Heavy cleaning of bathrooms (tiles, showers, walls, sinks, mirrors, lockers)
  • Dusting daily
  • Maintaining and organizing cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Picking up debris and mopping rubber floors
  • Replenishing supplies in locker rooms
  • Cleaning vacuum cleaner bags or canisters daily

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least three months experience in cleaning or janitorial services; customer service experience preferred; hospitality or health club experience is advantageous
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Professional teamwork skills
