Senior Geoscientist

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Geology Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Exploration & Production International team, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects that require your expertise in operations geology.

Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to safe drilling operations, daily well reporting, and well section reviews. You will also participate in the operations on-call rotation for duty and real-time decisions. Additionally, you will closely collaborate with other well project members to ensure multidisciplinary contribution in well planning projects (drilling and testing).

Some of the specific tasks you will perform include:

• Contributing to establish strategy for data acquisition and understand requirements.
• Contribute to feasibility risk assessment for operations by identifying main risks and potential showstoppers.
• Contribute to establish pore pressure and wellbore stability prognoses, blowout and depletion studies, evaluation and quality assurance of geological well data as well as reporting (pre- and post-well).
• Ensure compliance with ANP reporting.
• Participate in occasional onshore/offshore duties relevant when following up critical operations towards wellsites (geosteering, drilling, coring).

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in geology or engineering, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. You must also have eligibility to hold an active CREA (Regional Counsel of Engineering and Agronomy). Significant experience with well planning, operations geology, and wellsiting geology is essential. Experience in mudlogging and drilling operations is also highly valued. Basic log interpretation is an advantage, as is experience with geosteering and latest LWD/MWD, wireline, coring, and mud-logging technologies.

You should also have advanced knowledge in theory as well as use of wellbore stability and pore pressure prediction methods. Experience with Brazil pre-salt carbonates is desirable, as is advanced English language skills (good communication and language skills, both orally and written).
