Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional to bring expertise and knowledge of protection of women and girls concerns prevention and response programming.

  • The selected consultant will work closely with the Protection on women and girls concerns Coordinator in Afghanistan to develop a PSS curriculum for closed group activities for women.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Review existing guidance and resources related to group PSS in Afghanistan for protection of women and girls concerns.
  2. Desk review of other material from national and global levels such as Rethink Domestic Violence, Women Rise, Arab Women Speak, PSS Curriculum, and various other materials.
  3. Conduct interviews with select staff to understand practical needs and local challenges.
  4. Develop tools to get feedback from women participants on topics as necessary/feasible.
  5. Draft plans for developing guidance.
  6. Draft a Group PSS Guidance, including relevant tools/annexes, for review by HQ (expecting 2 drafts).
  7. Finalize Protection of women and girls concerns PSS Guidance and Awareness Raising Sheets, and all necessary tools/annex.
Requirements
  • Broad experience from group PSS in women and girls' safe spaces (WGSS) and basic awareness raising.
  • Knowledge of known guidelines such as Rethinking Domestic Violence (Raising Voices), Women Rise (IRC), Arab Women Speak (IRC), EMPOWER (IRC), etc.

The selected consultant should have excellent communication and project management skills, with ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
