Job Overview

The ideal candidate will be responsible for closing the month-end process in a timely manner. This involves preparing and submitting reports to local regulators, such as CADOCs 4010, 4016, 4111, 4050, 9010 and 9011. The selected individual must develop local financial statements for both bank and holding entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee entity-wide Balance Sheet Reconciliation Process ('BSRS') to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyze and manipulate data and spreadsheets in reconciliation and GL review processes/projects.
  • Calculate amounts and raise relevant general ledger journals for specific accounts.
  • Provide financial and regulatory reporting to group as required.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A qualified accountant with IFRS and Bacen GAAP expertise.
  • A strong understanding of HSBC's activities, products, processes, and systems.
  • Excellent data analysis and medium to advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and prioritization abilities.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and rapid learning capabilities.
  • Experience working in accounting roles for financial institutions.
  • Proficiency in English and Portuguese.
  • Accounting degree and CRC certification.
