About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data and Analytics Specialist to join our team at BRP. As a key member of our data engineering practice, you will play a crucial role in designing and building innovative data platforms to support business transformation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Implement Data Pipelines: Develop and implement robust ELT data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
  2. Collaborate with Development Teams: Work closely with multiple development teams to achieve delivery objectives and ensure seamless integration of data solutions.
  3. Provide Data Support: Offer support in requirements definition, estimation, development, and delivery of robust and scalable data solutions.
  4. Transform and Load Data: Design, implement, test, and support high-performing transformations to bring clean data to data analysts and scientists.
  5. Implement Data Quality Controls: Develop and implement data quality controls to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  6. Manage Large-Scale Processing Systems: Manage large-scale processing systems, addressing performance and scalability issues to ensure efficient data processing.
  7. Assess Data Effectiveness: Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources to ensure they meet business requirements.
  8. Document Technical Solutions: Create technical documentation to ensure future maintainability of data solutions.
  9. Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Continuously develop your knowledge in the field and share that knowledge with your peers to stay ahead of industry trends.
  10. Contribute to Data Engineering Practice: Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the data engineering practice to ensure it remains best-in-class.
  11. Understand Business Context: Go beyond the code to understand the business behind the data and related processes to ensure data solutions meet business needs.
  12. Participate in Team Discussions: Actively participate in team discussions to ensure alignment and collaboration among team members.
  13. Collaborate with Data Stewards: Collaborate with data stewards and technical experts to ensure proper management of digital data.
Requirements
  1. Experience with Big Data Technologies: Solid experience with Snowflake, DBT, Talend, or equivalent ETL tools, BigQuery, Universal Analytics, and GA4.
  2. Knowledge of Additional Technologies: Knowledge of Azure, Microsoft SQL Server, and Power BI is a plus.
  3. Programming Language Skills: Fluency in SQL and Python, with knowledge of JavaScript, Java, and Dax a plus.
  4. SQL Query Writing: Fluency in writing, executing, and optimizing complex SQL queries.
  5. Web Services Experience: Experience with web services such as Redshift, S3, Spark, and DigitalOcean.
  6. Data Analysis Experience: Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers like Google Analytics (UA/GA4) raw data, Site Catalyst, Coremetrics, etc.
  7. Agile Environment Experience: Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban).
  8. Data Profiling Experience: Experience with data profiling and other means of validating data quality.
  9. DevOps Experience: Familiarity with DevOps practices.
  10. Agile Team Experience: Experience working within an agile team to build big data/analytics solutions.
  11. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, motivated, and loves to work on multiple challenging projects.
  12. Adaptability: Open-minded and able to adapt to new ways of working.
  13. Organization: Well-organized and able to self-prioritize, sometimes with conflicting deadlines.
  14. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both speaking and writing, in both French and English.
  15. Continuous Learning: Continuously seeks improvements and eager to put hands on new technologies.
  16. Additional Skills: Experience with SAP, Power BI, AI/ML knowledge is a plus.
